Drainage Problems? Let’s Find the Cause.
Water pooling around your home, soggy lawns, damp walls or water coming through brickwork when it rains can all point to a drainage problem. But the right solution depends on what’s causing the water to collect and where it’s coming from.
H2PRO Plumbing has more than 20 years of experience investigating and resolving drainage problems across Melbourne’s eastern suburbs. Every property is different, so we take the time to assess the situation and recommend a practical solution suited to your home.
Depending on the problem, this may involve additional aggie drainage, drainage pits, new drainage lines or considering whether waterproofing is needed. Getting the diagnosis right is important — the aim is to address the cause, not just move the water somewhere else.
Common Drainage Problems We Help With

Why does water pool around my paving or house when it rains?
Water collecting around paving, paths or the perimeter of your home can indicate that water isn’t draining away properly. We investigate the site, look at where the water is collecting and recommend suitable options to help manage it.

Why is water coming through my bricks when it rains?
Water entering brickwork can lead to damp patches inside your home and damage over time. The cause isn’t always obvious, so it’s important to investigate how water is reaching the wall and whether surrounding drainage, ground levels or waterproofing may be contributing.

What is the white powder appearing on my bricks?
White, powdery deposits on brickwork can be efflorescence, which occurs when moisture carries dissolved salts to the surface as it dries. While this doesn’t automatically mean you have a major drainage problem, persistent dampness or water ingress should be investigated to help identify the source of the moisture.

Why is my lawn always soggy or a section of my yard staying wet?
If parts of your garden remain wet long after rain, the ground may not be draining effectively. Depending on the site, a solution could involve aggie drainage, drainage pits or additional drainage lines to help collect and redirect excess water.
The Right Solution Starts With the Right Investigation
There isn’t one drainage solution that suits every property. The layout of your home, ground levels, soil conditions and the way water moves across the site all matter.
Our experienced plumbers have worked through a wide range of drainage scenarios. We’ll assess the problem, explain what we believe is causing it and provide a quote for the solution we recommend, so you can make an informed decision before work begins.

Frequently asked questions about drainage
How do I know if my water pipes need replacing?
Rusty or discoloured water, reduced pressure, poor flow and recurring leaks can all indicate deteriorating pipework. An inspection will help determine the condition of your existing system.
Do you have to replace all the pipes?
No. Depending on the condition of the existing pipework, we may recommend replacing a particular section or renewing the cold water supply throughout the home.
Can you replace galvanised pipes?
Yes. We regularly come across older galvanised water pipework that has deteriorated with age. We’ll assess the existing system and explain the appropriate options.
Do I need an electrician as well?
Not necessarily. Water pipe renewals can have electrical earthing and bonding considerations, particularly where metal pipework is being removed or replaced. If electrical work is required, we can arrange for a licensed electrician to assess and complete it.
Can you install water filtration at the same time?
Yes. Water filtration is a separate service, and we can discuss filtration options if you’re looking to improve the water quality in your home.

What our customers say

Jayden and Riley originally came to sort an issue with blocked drains under my concrete driveway. They were prompt, efficient, professional in every way and always patiently explained every step. When the source of the issue was discovered they proceeded to diligently sort a solution. They worked efficiently, going above and beyond expectations, and completely cleaned up when the job was fineished. Now 12 months lager Jaydan returned to complete my annual check u, performing camera inspection of works previously done. He found grasses and roots that had to be removed. He clearly explained it all as I watched it on a screen. I have no hesitation in recommending H2pro to anyone needing a plumber in the Eltham area. Definitely five stars!!
