Toilet Cistern Replacement in Box Hill
Sometimes a toilet doesn’t need a complete replacement a worn or damaged cistern can be replaced while keeping the existing toilet pan.
For this Box Hill home, the existing cistern was showing its age, with visible black marking and deterioration. The decision was made to replace the cistern with a new one while keeping the original toilet.
Replacing the toilet cistern
We first isolated the water supply before removing the existing cistern. We then measured carefully to make sure the new cistern would fit correctly with the original toilet pan.
The old cistern was removed and replaced with a new cistern, along with a new isolation valve and flexible connection. Once everything was connected, we turned the water back on and tested the toilet to make sure it was filling, flushing and operating correctly.
The old cistern was then removed from site and disposed of.
