This week’s Plumbing Spotlight takes us to The Basin, where we completed a whole house water filter installation using the Aquastream TRIO.2 system. The homeowners complained of water with an odd smell. They wanted cleaner, better-tasting water from every tap and shower in their home, and a whole-house filter was the perfect solution.
The system: Aquastream TRIO.2
The Aquastream TRIO.2 is a whole-home filtration system that comes with a 5-year warranty. It filters the water as it enters the house, so every tap, shower and appliance gets clean water. It uses three filter stages:
- Sediment filter: catches dirt, rust and sediment.
- Scale protection: helps reduce scale build-up in your pipes, taps and appliances.
- Carbon block filter: reduces chlorine taste and smell for better-tasting water.
What we did
We mounted the filter on the external wall beside the garage and redirected the home’s incoming water supply through it. We also fitted bypass piping, so water can keep flowing to the house when the filters are being serviced. Once everything was connected, we tested the water at the taps and issued a Certificate of Compliance.

Looking after your filter
Keeping your filter working well is easy. The sediment and carbon cartridges need replacing every 6 to 12 months, and the scale protection cartridge lasts around 2 years.
